HÀ NỘI — The European Union (EU) has partnered with the renowned Vietnamese hip-hop artist Suboi to launch the I’ve Got the Power campaign in Việt Nam, celebrating the strong collaboration between the EU and the Southeast Asian nation for a greener, sustainable future for all.

The campaign focuses on the shared commitment to sustainable energy and the transformative impact of EU-supported initiatives in Việt Nam, which aim to provide renewable solutions for individuals and local communities.

It is implemented under the EU’s Global Gateway initiative which is the EU's positive offer to reduce the worldwide investment disparity and boost smart, clean and secure connections in digital, energy and transport sectors, and to strengthen health, education and research systems.

In Việt Nam, the Global Gateway initiative is exemplified by projects like, for example, the Trà Vinh Near-Shore Wind Farm. This wind farm, financed by the EU, generates renewable electricity, supplying power to 130,000 people and reducing CO₂ emissions by 70,000 tons annually.

“The transition to renewable energy is not just about reducing carbon emissions; it’s about creating a more sustainable future for the people, the planet and local economies in Vietnam. Through this campaign, we want people to not only understand the importance of sustainable energy but also realise how this transition can positively impact their lives and future,” said EU Ambassador to Việt Nam Julien Guerrier.

Suboi’s track, The Power, produced by Nodey, is the anthem of the campaign, highlighting the potential of clean energy to improve people’s lives and inspiring them to adopt this positive change.

"Sustainable energy isn’t just about technology – it’s about people. I’m proud to collaborate with the European Union and to be part of this innovative campaign that connects sustainability, music, and empowerment for a better future for Việt Nam,” said the hip-hop artist.

This partnership empowers individuals, like Hà Nội-based delivery driver Hải, who could switch to an electric bike, reducing costs and emissions, while improving the efficiency of his business. Tú, a café owner using renewable energy to power her business and saving money. Their stories illustrate how the Global Gateway initiative has a direct positive impact on individuals and small businesses.

The campaign will be widely launched with a paid media campaign on YouTube and Meta.
