Former Hạ Long chairman to be detained and prosecuted

The People’s Procuracy of Quảng Ninh Province on Saturday issued a warrant to prosecute and temporarily detain Phạm Hồng Hà, former chairman of Hạ Long People’s Committee.

QUẢNG NINH — The People’s Procuracy of Quảng Ninh Province on Saturday issued a warrant to prosecute and temporarily detain Phạm Hồng Hà, former chairman of Hạ Long City People’s Committee.

Quảng Ninh authorities searched Hà’s private residence on Trần Quốc Nghiễn Street, Hạ Long City, on Saturday afternoon.

He will be prosecuted for the crime of “abusing position and power while performing duties,” said the provincial People’s Procuracy.

If the investigation reveals further violations, authorities will proceed according to the law. — VNS
