Vietnamese President Tô Lâm on July 13 met President of the Cambodian National Assembly (NA) Khuon Sudary as part of the former’s state visit to the neighbouring country.

Laos and Việt Nam boast special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, an unprecedented relationship in history, he remarked, describing the trip as enormous momentum for the Lao Party, State, and people and also a contribution helping the bilateral ties become stronger and stay sustainable forever.

President of the Cambodian People’s Party and President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly valued his guest’s first state visit to Cambodia as the State leader of Việt Nam, considering the trip a contribution to the countries’ friendship and close-knit ties.

A Vietnamese delegation led by Vice President of Diplomatic Academy of Việt Nam Nguyễn Hùng Sơn attended the 14th annual conference on East Sea (also known as South China Sea) held by the Washington DC-based Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on July 11.

Defence - security cooperation remains a pillar while economic, trade, and investment partnerships are currently a bright spot, especially the vigorous growth of bilateral trade.

This trip holds tremendous significance, marking a milestone in further strengthening and deepening the bilateral relationship based on the principles of "good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability".

Affirming the Party and the State always pay attention to the OV community, an integral part of the national solidarity bloc, President Lâm expressed his hope that those in Laos will continue staying united, supporting each other, abiding to local laws, and acting as a bridge to nurture the special Việt Nam-Laos relationship.

PM Chính asked members to multiply effective measures and models, while drawing lessons from the first six months of the year for better performance.

President Lâm donated $30,000 to assist in expanding the school's kindergarten area. He expressed his hope that the success of the Nguyễn Du school model would be replicated in other Lao localities,

President Lâm commended the cooperation results between the LFNC and the VFF and other Vietnamese partners and highlighted the cooperation agreement for 2022-2026 signed by the two fronts.
