 Vietnamese youth and students in the US pin high expectations on the coming trip of Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm to attend the UN Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79).

Party General Secretary and President Tô Lâm will attend the United Nations Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), hold working sessions in the US, and later pay a state visit to Cuba.

History Professor Nguyễn Thị Liên Hằng from the New York-based Columbia University perceived that the trip, set to begin on Saturday, holds great significance amid Việt Nam’s growing relations with the UN and the US.

HCM City authorities have arrested two Vietnamese individuals for allegedly planning to distribute subversive leaflets to incite protests during the National Day Holiday (September 2).

The ambassador stressed that it will be the first time the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee attends the UNGA and also the first multilateral diplomatic activity by Party General Secretary and President Tô Lâm at the global organisation.

As a middle-income country, Việt Nam has a vested interest in reshaping global financial structures to ensure access to affordable financing for sustainable development.

Việt Nam has achieved significant socioeconomic success, including gender equality and empowering women, and the role and status of Vietnamese women have been elevated in all areas of social life, particularly in politics and the economy
