Steering committee for wastefulness prevention and control established

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính signed a decision to establish the Steering Committee for Wastefulness Prevention and Control on Tuesday.

According to Decision No 1579/QĐ-TTg, the PM will be the committee chairman, while Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc, Minister of Finance Nguyễn Văn Thắng, and Government Inspector General Doãn Hồng Phong will serve as vice chairpersons. 

The Steering Committee is an inter-sectoral body tasked with assisting the PM in researching, directing, and coordinating to address important inter-sectoral issues related to wastefulness prevention and control.

It will give advice to the Government leader on putting forth orientations and solutions to the issues regarding the implementation of the National Strategy on Wastefulness Prevention and Control and the Government's programme on practising thrift and preventing wastefulness; and perform other relevant tasks.

The Steering Committee will also assist the PM in directing and coordinating ministries, ministerial-level and government agencies, and relevant organisations in resolving important inter-sectoral issues to put in place the above-mentioned strategy and programme.

The Ministry of Finance serves as the standing agency of the Steering Committee. — VNS
