HCM CITY — Pop-rock musician Zélie Claeyssen from Paris, who has emerged as one of the outstanding musicians of the year, will kick off her tour in Việt Nam, beginning with a concert in HCM City on October 5.

Zélie will perform with drummer Ema Heber-Suffrin, keyboard player Ilan N’Kaoua, guitarist Hugo Minvielle, and sound engineer Zoé Coquillard.

Having a singular and emotional voice, the singer and her peers will offer songs combining airy pop, rock and rap with urban influences, carrying motivational and inspiring messages.

Zélie, 22, released her debut album titled Un Million De Petits Chocs (A Million Little Shocks) in March 2024, which is like a diary of music reflecting emotions and the inner world of a young musician. Her lyrics capture the ups and downs of a young artist in search of truth, reflecting a generation that is thirsty for freedom and is very committed.

The band include composer and producer Ket, bassist Nhành, drummer Phấy, trumpeter Trung Nguyên, and saxophonist Lemonyfin, who released a debut album in 2023 and performed at the Hozo Super Fest 2023, the city’s biggest international music festival.

The performance will also present Dreamwork, whose real name is Bùi Nguyễn Minh Ngọc, who introduced her first extended play in March, consisting of four songs about life and work.

The concert will begin at 8pm at Golden Bird’s, 142 Trần Não Street in An Khánh Ward.

The tour will continue at Nguyễn Hiển Dĩnh Theatre in Đà Nẵng on October 7, Huế University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Huế City on October 9, and the Polygon Musik - COMPLEX 01 in Hà Nội on October 11. — VNS
