ĐIỆN BIÊN — Portraits of 30 outstanding heroes of the People's Armed Forces from the historic Điện Biên Phủ Campaign (1954) are being exhibited in the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Museum in the northern province of Điện Biên.
“The Điện Biên Phủ Victory, ‘resounded across the globe and shock the world’ ' will always be a source of pride and a brilliant symbol of the determination and strength of the Vietnamese nation," said Vũ Thị Tuyết Nga, Director of the museum.
"In that glorious victory, countless steadfast examples bravely fought and sacrificed their blood and bones, contributing to the Điện Biên Phủ victory – a shining milestone for the Vietnamese nation.
“They were soldiers who carried the love for their homeland, ready to sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the nation.”
The photo exhibition Portraits of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces in the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, organised by the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Museum, will celebrate the 78th Anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs Day that falls on July 27.
It serves as a bridge to continue spreading the value and significance of the glorious victory to a wider audience, including domestic and international visitors.
It also contributes to educating the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of national pride and the consciousness of training and striving to study, thereby helping to build a homeland and country that is increasingly prosperous and civilised.
