HÀ NỘI — Northern Việt Nam will continue to experience cold weather, with severe cold spells expected in high mountainous areas from February 23, the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting said.
The centre forecasts that starting on the night of February 19 until February 27, northern Việt Nam will likely see drizzle and scattered fog, with light rains in the northwest region.
A significant drop in temperature is expected from February 23, bringing cold conditions, especially in high-altitude areas.

The northern region, including Hà Nội, will experience cloudy conditions with drizzle and cold temperatures ranging from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius.
In the northwest, daytime temperatures could reach between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius, but some areas may remain below 14 degrees Celsius overnight.
Northeastern provinces will see persistent cloud cover with occasional drizzle. Temperatures will hover between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius, with mountainous areas dropping below 13 degrees Celsius.
North-central Việt Nam (from Thanh Hóa to Huế) will be cloudy, with intermittent rains in the northern areas. Temperatures will range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Central Việt Nam, from Đà Nẵng to Bình Thuận, will see scattered showers, with daytime temperatures ranging from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
The Central Highlands will remain mostly sunny, with nighttime thunderstorms in some areas. Temperatures will range from 17 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Southern Việt Nam will see sunny days with scattered thunderstorms at night. Temperatures will range from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius. — VNS
