HÀ NỘI — At the Việt Nam Glorious Spring Fair 2026, the pavilion of the Central Silk Board of India draws significant attention from Vietnamese consumers and businesses in the textile and garment sector.
Beyond showcasing high-end and traditional silk products, the pavilion serves as a place to exchange, contributing to stronger trade ties between enterprises of the two countries.
Participating in the Glorious Spring Fair 2026, Naresh Babu, head of the Technical Department of the Central Silk Board under India’s Ministry of Textiles, together with ten member enterprises introduce Vietnamese audiences to natural silk products reflecting India’s long-standing cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
The exhibits stand out for their natural materials, refined weaving techniques, rich colour palettes and diverse patterns, highlighting both the historical depth and enduring vitality of India’s silk industry.
Speaking to Công Thương (Industry and Trade) newspaper, Bùi Trung Thướng, trade counsellor and head of the Việt Nam Trade Office in India, said that the Indian pavilion has attracted a large number of visitors from the early days of the fair.
In addition to consumers interested in product quality and design, many Vietnamese textiles, fashion and design enterprises have proactively sought information and discussions to explore long-term cooperation opportunities. The combination of product displays with professional exchange activities created a distinctive appeal for the pavilion.
Naresh Babu emphasised that participation in this Spring Fair is not merely an opportunity to promote products, but also a chance to strengthen technical cooperation, share production experience between Indian and Vietnamese enterprises and expand market access for Indian businesses in Việt Nam and the region.
Direct engagement with Vietnamese enterprises and consumers have also helped units understand market trends, consumer preferences and development potential for products aligned with actual demand.
According to Thướng, many Vietnamese enterprises expressed strong interest in cooperating with Indian partners in developing sustainable products, applying new technologies and integrating more deeply into global supply chains.
These directions are considered well suited to the textile and garment sector’s current challenges, including green transition requirements, traceability and the need to enhance value added.

The Indian pavilion therefore not only enriches the Glorious Spring Fair’s trade activities but also opens up new prospects for bilateral cooperation in a sector with considerable growth potential.
The first Spring Fair in 2026 marked an important highlight in a series of activities aimed at stimulating consumption, developing the domestic market and promoting Vietnamese brands on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2026.
Regarding international pavilions, similar to the Autumn Fair, when assigned to organise the Glorious Spring Fair 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested the network of trade offices and overseas trade promotion agencies to actively engage in connecting potential partners and customers and supporting exhibition activities.
This approach is intended to stimulate consumption and enhance trade linkages in line with domestic market development orientations.
In the coming period, alongside the Autumn and Spring fairs, Việt Nam will gradually develop additional specialised trade fairs to meet market development and trade promotion needs across specific sectors, thereby creating a sustainable foundation for supply–demand connectivity and international economic integration.
The Glorious Spring Fair is taking place from February 2 to 13 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre (VEC) in Đông Anh District, Hà Nội. The fair opens from 9am to 10pm during peak days from February 6 to 8, and from 9.am to 9.pm on weekdays. — VNS
