LÀO CAI — The 25th Việt Nam – China International Trade Fair 2025 opened in Lào Cai Province on Thursday.

The Việt Nam – China International Trade Fair is held annually on a rotating basis between Lào Cai Province (Việt Nam) and Yunnan Province (China). It is a national trade promotion event under Việt Nam’s National Trade Promotion Programme.

This year’s fair takes place from November 19 to 24 at the Kim Thành Exhibition and Fair Centre in Lào Cai, with nearly 700 booths, including more than 500 standard booths and eight special exhibition zones.

The event has attracted participation from 22 Vietnamese provinces and cities, 170 Chinese enterprises and 11 businesses from eight countries.

An annual trade promotion activity for border localities, the fair is also a comprehensive cooperation forum on economics, trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges between localities of both countries.

It creates crucial opportunities to showcase each country’s economic and investment potential, helping businesses meet partners, seek mutually beneficial investment and business opportunities, and grow together.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyễn Thành Sinh, vice chairman of the Lào Cai Province People’s Committee and head of the organising committee, said that over 24 editions, the fair has expanded in scale and quality, becoming a well-known event and an indispensable trade and exchange platform for import–export activities on both sides.

The fair has successfully facilitated thousands of economic contracts, significantly contributing to the remarkable growth of import-export turnover through Lào Cai’s border gates and solidifying its position as Việt Nam’s strategic gateway to southwestern China. — VNS
