Billiard World Cup to be held in HCM City in May

HÀ NỘI — HCM City will host the Carom Billiard 3-Cushion World Cup on May 16-28.

The event is part of the international tournament series in three-cushion billiards organised yearly since 1986.

Last year, Trần Quyết Chiến became the first Vietnamese World Cup winner in history.

He performed a minor miracle in the tournament beating world No 2 Frédéric Caudron in the semi-final (40-39) and had an incredible finish against teammate Ngô Đình Nại 40-39 in the final in front of some 1,500 spectators.

It will be the fifth time that the World Cup has come to Việt Nam. — VNS
