Steinberg has held various leadership positions at Sanofi across Southeast Asia, Europe and global markets during nearly two decades in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and vaccines.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to business growth, expanded access to innovative prevention solutions and led strategic transformation initiatives in the pharmaceutical sector.

Coming from a family with strong ties to the medical profession, he developed an early interest in healthcare and has pursued a career focused on creating a positive and lasting impact on communities.

At Sanofi, he has gained experience in market development, strategic planning, people management and commercial operations, helping bring innovative treatment and prevention solutions to people in different markets.

A pivotal time for healthcare

Steinberg takes up the role at a pivotal time for Việt Nam’s healthcare sector, as the Government’s priorities for improving healthcare quality create new opportunities in both treatment and prevention.

The shift from a focus on treating diseases towards more comprehensive healthcare and proactive disease prevention is helping reduce the burden of disease while supporting the development of a more sustainable, modern and people-centred health system.

At the same time, national priorities in science, technology and innovation are creating momentum for the sector’s development. These policies are expected to encourage research, manufacturing and the adoption of advanced biomedical technologies, while strengthening Việt Nam’s long-term capabilities and self-reliance in healthcare.
