HÀ NỘI — Tickets for the match between Việt Nam and Laos in Group A of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 have nearly sold out in the first ticket sale.

The match will take place at 7:30pm on November 8 at the Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, which can host 20,000 spectators.

Tickets are being sold for 10,000 to 20,000 Lao kip (about US$1.17 – 2.35).

About 15,000 tickets have been sold. Thipphakon Phakasi, a media official for the Laos Football Federation (LFF), said there were only 1,000 tickets left at the 10,000 kip price point.

He added the LFF will sell the remaining 5,000 tickets today, a day prior to the match.

This is the first time Laos has hosted an AFF Suzuki Cup match.

This year, the tournament will feature a new playing format with both home and away ties.

The AFF Cup will be held at 12 different stadiums in Southeast Asia from November 8 to December 15.

Vietnamese national team coach Park Hang-seo has selected 23 footballers for the event. Among them are six footballers who will compete in the regional tournament for the first time including goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng, midfielders Đỗ Hùng Dũng, Phạm Đức Huy and Lục Xuân Hưng and strikers Hà Đức Chinh and Nguyễn Tiến Linh.

After the match against Laos, Việt Nam will play Malaysia at Hà Nội’s Mỹ Đình Stadium on November 16, Myanmar in Yangon on November 20 and Cambodia at Hàng Đẫy Stadium in Hà Nội on November 24.

Việt Nam are looking to win the regional title after a 10-year wait. They won the AFF Cup for the first time in 2008. — VNS
