HÀ NỘI — Viet Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam rose 51 steps to world No 425 in the latest ATP rankings yesterday.

It is the highest ranking ever for the southern province of Tây Ninh-born player or for any Vietnamese ace.

Nam recently earned three runner-up spots and one championship in the men’s singles and doubles of the Việt Nam F4 and F5 Futures – Hải Đăng Cup 2018 in Tây Ninh Province, triumphing in the doubles of the former event.

In the doubles category, Nam also moved up 187 steps to No 602.

Nam is expected to rank in the top 400 next week. — VNS
