Basketball stars compete for Saigon Pro-Am Cup

HCM CITY — The Saigon Pro-Am Cup 2025 is set to ignite the courts of HCM City's Hồ Xuân Hương Gymnasium on October 5.

The third season promises a competitive 10-club tournament with thrilling matches from group round which will be clashes of the titans. 

The most notable face this year is the blockbuster-deal Kentrell Barkle of IN’N’OUT Club. The American player is the best foreign player in Việt Nam currently.

IN’N’OUT are also home to quality local players such as Nguyễn Hoàng Tuấn, Dư Minh An, Đặng Thái Hưng and Triệu Hán Minh along with Danish-Vietnamese Tim Waale.

Other big names include Yevgen Sakhniuk of Next Level Hyperhall and Davon Dillard of Tsunami Dreamers.

Next Level Hyperhall with veteran and experienced Stefan Nguyễn, Hoàng Tú and  Jimmy Kiên are a strong threat to any rival.

Meanwhile Solar catch supporters' attention with their lineup that gathers almost of members of the VBA professional club Nha Trang Dolphins.

Reigning champions AIP Dreamers will defend their title under new name of Tsunami Dreamers. Coach Nam Pao will take charge of the team with many new players.

Only Michael Soy is still available in the winning team. He will be joined by famous teammates such Tâm Đinh, Đinh Tiến Công, Nguyễn Anh Kiệt, Tô Ngọc Khánh and Nguyễn Phúc Vinh who just finished their VBA season last month.

Teams are divided into two groups. They will vie for four top places of the tournament and secure their slots in the Vietnam Pro-Am Basketball Championship 2025, which is scheduled later this month in Hà Nội. VNS
