PHÚ YÊN — The New Zealand team triumphed at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women's Beach Tour Open - Cloud Gate Cup 2025, which concluded in Phú Yên Province on Monday.

In the final match, New Zealand defeated the Thai team 2-0 to claim the title. The Australian teams secured third and fourth places, while Việt Nam, Japan and China finished in fifth place.

The tournament featured 22 teams from ten countries and regions, including Australia, Hong Kong (China), Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Japan. Athletes showcased their skills in a total of 40 matches throughout the event.

Lê Hoàng Sơn, Technical Supervisor of the AVC, said the tournament was a resounding success in terms of both expertise and organisation.

"The athletes were very impressed with everything here and hope to return to this beautiful place," Sơn said.

This was the first major international tournament organised in Phú Yên, which undertook extensive preparations to welcome athletes from around the globe. VNS
