HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam ended the seventh Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships with five gold medals on September 5 in Pattaya, Thailand.
On the last day of competitions, Vietnamese athletes pocketed four golds in both junior and senior categories.
Lê Hoàng Phong and Trần Ngọc Thúy Vi won in the over-18 Mixed Pairs. They then joined with Nguyễn Chế Thanh to triumph in the over-18 Trios event.
Thanh also grabbed his second gold in the over-18 Groups discipline as he and teammates Vương Hoài Ân, Nguyễn Việt Anh, Hoàng Gia Bảo and Trương Ngọc Diễm Hằng outclassed all other sides to top the podium.
Among them, Vi, Thanh, Phong, Anh and Ân are world champions in the Groups event as they dominated the world championship in June in Portugal.
The last title went to Phan Thế Gia Nam in the men's youth Individual.
On September 4, Trịnh Quang Mạnh and Phan Thị Uyên Nhi took the first gold for the country in the youth Mixed Pairs.
The team also secured seven silver medals at the five-day championship. VNS
