HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội Urban Planning Institute has announced specifications of a section of Ring Road 3.5, a major traffic route in the city passing six of its outer districts.

Work begins on the six-lane, 6.7km long section soon after specifications were announced on Friday, Tiền Phong (Vanguard) online newspaper reported.

The section will connect Thăng Long Boulevard to National Route 6.

It will pass two of the city’s outer districts of Hoài Đức and Hà Đông and help ease traffic congestion on Ring Road 3.  

Multi-tiered routes are expected where the section crosses Thăng Long Boulevard and the intersection between Tố Hữu Street and National Route 6.

It will also cross the urban railway number 6 (connecting Nội Bài International Airport and the city’s outer district of Thanh Trì) and the underground urban railway number 7 (connecting the city’s two outer district of Mê Linh and Hà Đông), which will be built from now until 2030. — VNS
