HÀ NỘI — Two people died after a fire broke out at a house in Chương Mỹ District’s Xuân Mai Town on Monday morning.
The fire started on the first floor of the five-storey house at around 1am, and then spread to the whole house.
A large number of fire trucks and firefighters of the Hà Nội Department of Fire Fighting and Prevention were present at the scene. Firefighters managed to save seven of the nine people from the house.
The two victims were stuck in the house and died of suffocation, according to the police of Chương Mỹ District.
It took the firefighters nearly one hour to extinguish the fire. According to the firefighters, the first floor of the 70sq.m house was used to store automobile tyres and chemical substances that are flammable. The case is under investigation.
On Sunday, a fire occurred at a warehouse storing tobacco of Móng Cái Trade and Service Joint Stock Company in the northern province of Quảng Ninh’s Móng Cái City.
