Đà Nẵng — An education organisation from Japan, Leave a Nest, in collaboration with the Self Wing Việt Nam Company began pilot project on nature research education for students at junior secondary schools in Đà Nẵng.
The project, which began at Tây Sơn junior secondary school, on nature engineering technology uses lectures from Japanese experts aiming to encourage students interest in natural science.
Students will be educated on renewable energy, and how to generate power from wind and solar rays.
Leave a Nest will set up a laboratory for primary school kids with development programmes on fitness, intellect, logic and nature engineering technology.
The project marks the first collaboration between the central city and Japanese partners in primary science education.
In a meeting with the city’s leadership last month, Japanese JP Holdings said it plans to invest in a high quality kindergarten education project in the city from next year with estimated capital of US$5 million.
Đà Nẵng has introduced Japanese, Korean and German languages in some secondary schools with a foreign language programme for 2012-20.
The city launched a direct air route connecting Đà Nẵng to Narita, Japan in 2014 with seven flights a week, and a direct Đà Nẵng-Osaka route is expected to be put into operation later this year with four flights a week. — VNS
