HÀ NỘI — A notice from the Government Office has been issued on preparations for the First Spring Fair in 2026, which will take place from February 2 to 13 at the Việt Nam Exhibition Centre in Hà Nội's Đông Anh Commune.

The office issued Notice 49/TB-VPCP relaying conclusions from the Standing Government at a meeting on the organisation of the fair.

After hearing a report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) about preparations for the massive event, along with comments from meeting participants and statements by numerous deputy prime ministers, the Government expressed its appreciation for the efforts of all those who helped organise the fair.

These include the MoIT, ministries, agencies, localities and Vingroup, who all worked together to develop the plan for the event and agreed on the official name: 'The First Spring Fair 2026'.

Based on current regulations, the MoIT was tasked with consolidating requests for budgetary support from ministries and sectors using State Budget sources. This includes support for research and reference to the exhibition 'A80: Journey of Independence, Freedom and Happiness', and the submission of a proposal to the Ministry of Finance on January 29.

Eligible expenditure items for State Budget support will follow the content outlined in the ministry’s report presented at the meeting.

The MoIT will be responsible for the accuracy of the reported content and figures.

On that basis, the Ministry of Finance was required to promptly review and provide guidance within its authority, or report to relevant authorities where issues exceed its remit, by January 30.

This must be done in strict compliance with State Budget law and related legislation, ensuring thrift and efficiency, preventing waste and misconduct, and aligning with the State Budget’s balancing capacity.

In addition to the above mentioned financial support, localities are encouraged to provide additional support to help ensure effective implementation and contribute to the success of the fair.

Contractor selection is also considered an urgent task requiring immediate implementation.

Ministries, agencies and localities are asked to act within their authority and in accordance with the law, ensuring progress, quality, transparency, thrift and efficiency, and preventing any negative practices.
