HCM CITY — Four new satellite emergency stations of the 115 Emergency Centre have recently launched in HCM City, bringing the total number of satellite emergency stations in the city to 49, according to the city’s Department of Health.

The city’s health sector has accelerated the expansion of the network of satellite emergency stations in the former Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu and Bình Dương provinces after their merger with HCM City.

On August 15, the department put into operation two satellite emergency stations at Bình Dương General Hospital and Military Hospital 4.

On August 16, two other satellite emergency stations were put into operation at Bà Rịa General Hospital and Vũng Tàu General Hospital.

The establishment of satellite stations in Bình Dương and Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu is one of the urgent tasks of the city’s health sector, said Assoc Prof Dr Tăng Chí Thượng, director of the department.

The expansion of the satellite emergency station network in these areas will continue to be implemented in the coming time in an attempt to help locals access the city’s emergency healthcare system in a timely manner, he said.

To ensure the system's smooth operation, the 115 Emergency Centre has been equipped with modern facilities.

Since the beginning of 2021, the centre has deployed an emergency coordination software system that optimises the call reception process, analyses emergency situations in real time and automatically dispatches ambulances to the most suitable locations.

In addition, the 115 hotline provides consultation and first aid instructions over the phone.

Construction of a new 115 Emergency Centre that meets international standards at the Tân Kiên Specialised Medical Cluster is expected to begin by the end of 2025. —VNS
