HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội Department of Public Security has announced a traffic rerouting plan to facilitate events marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945–2025).
The commemorative ceremony that includes a parade of armed and civil forces (code A80) is scheduled to begin at 6:30am on September 2. In preparation, organisers will conduct the first joint rehearsal at 8:00pm on August 21, the second at 8:00pm on August 24, a preliminary review at 8:00pm on August 27, and the final dress rehearsal at 6:30am on August 30.
To ensure security and safety for the celebrations, traffic will be completely restricted on numerous central streets during specific time frames: from 5:00pm on August 21 to 3:00am on August 22; 5:00pm on August 24 to 3:00am on August 25; 5:00pm on August 27 to 3:00am on August 28; 6:00pm on August 29 to 3:00pm on August 30; and 6:00pm on September 1 to 3:00pm on September 2.
During these periods, all vehicles, except those with security badges or serving the celebrations, will be completely banned from dozens of streets – Hoàng Hoa Thám, Thụy Khuê (from Hùng Vương to Văn Cao), Mai Xuân Thưởng, Quán Thánh, Phan Đình Phùng, Hùng Vương, Thanh Niên, Hoàng Văn Thụ, Độc Lập, Điện Biên Phủ, Bà Huyện Thanh Quan, Chùa Một Cột, Lê Hồng Phong, Ông Ích Khiêm, Ngọc Hà, Bắc Sơn, Tôn Thất Đàm, Nguyễn Cảnh Chân, Hoàng Diệu, Nguyễn Tri Phương, Chu Văn An, Tôn Đức Thắng, Cát Linh, Trịnh Hoài Đức, Hàng Cháo, Trần Phú, Sơn Tây, Kim Mã, Liễu Giai, Văn Cao, Nghi Tàm, Yên Phụ, Cửa Bắc, Đội Cấn, Dốc La-Pho, Nguyễn Thái Học, Lê Duẩn, Trần Nhân Tông (from Lê Duẩn to Quang Trung), Tràng Thi, Hàng Khay, Tràng Tiền, Cổ Tân, Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Bà Trưng to Tràng Tiền); Lê Thánh Tông, Tông Đản (from Lý Đạo Thành to Tràng Tiền), Trần Quang Khải, Trần Khánh Dư, Quang Trung (from Lý Thường Kiệt to Tràng Thi), Lý Thái Tổ, Nguyễn Hữu Huân, Ngô Quyền (from State Bank square to Tràng Tiền), Giảng Võ, Láng Hạ, Láng (from Láng Hạ to Trần Duy Hưng).
Traffic will be temporarily banned for all vehicles on roads within Ring Road 1, and certain types of vehicles on several streets within Ring Roads 2 and 3, along with some streets from Ring Road 3 heading toward the outskirts.
The Hà Nội police advise people from other provinces travelling to the capital for the celebrations to use coaches or public transport, follow the instructions of traffic officers, and check event-related traffic updates in advance via the official website: https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn.
The department has also requested the municipal Department of Construction, the Hà Nội Transport Corporation, and the Việt Nam Railways Corporation to increase public passenger transport services to bring people from outer areas to the city centre, add road signs to guide traffic flows, and adjust bus routes where necessary. — VNA/VNS
