Troops discovered an unexploded 350kg MK117 bomb during flood clean-up in Pá Vạt 2 Hamlet, Điện Biên Province.

ĐIỆN BIÊN — Troops from Regiment 82, Division 355 (Military Zone 2) discovered an unexploded MK117 bomb during flood recovery efforts in Pá Vạt 2 Hamlet, Mường Luân Commune, the northern mountainous province of Điện Biên Province, on Monday.

The 350kg US-made bomb, found near Pá Vạt Bridge, still had an active fuse.

The area was immediately secured, and the Điện Biên Military Command dispatched an engineering unit to safely remove it from the residential zone.

The bomb was transported to Depot K79 for safe disposal. — VNS
