HÀ NỘI — The AI-Semiconductor Conference (AISC 2025) kicked off in Hà Nội on Wednesday, bringing together over 1,000 leaders and experts from tech giants like Google, NVIDIA, IBM, Meta, Intel and Samsung.

The event, organised by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in collaboration with the US-based Aitomatic, Inc., is expected to create cross-border business opportunities while affirming Việt Nam’s role in the global AI and semiconductor industries.

In his opening remarks, NIC Director Vũ Quốc Huy said the event serves as a forum for academic exchange and an opportunity for Việt Nam to assert its position in the regional technology race, adding that it will help domestic businesses shape their development strategies, enhance innovation capabilities and promote sustainable growth in high-tech sectors.

Aitomatic founder Dr Christopher Nguyễn said that the Vietnamese Government's efforts to promote AI and semiconductor development demonstrate the right direction aligned with the shift in the global technology value chain.

AISC 2025 shows the strong interest of the international community and affirms Việt Nam as a strategic destination in high-tech fields, he said, noting that the combination of national vision and international investment needs from developed economies such as the US, Japan and the Republic of Korea has made the event highly attractive, opening up important opportunities for the development of the AI and semiconductor industries in Việt Nam.

The opening session stressed the role of open-source AI in innovation and chip production optimisation, creating opportunities for Vietnamese firms to access advanced technologies and enhance their positions in global supply chains.

For the first time in Việt Nam, participating companies joined the Start-up Pavilion – an international Shark Tank programme where they presented their innovative ideas within a limited timeframe to leading investment funds and had the opportunity to secure important agreements to facilitate their entry into the global technology market.

AISC 2025 also focused on discussions about new technology trends in AI and semiconductors, including the revolution in chip design and manufacturing, the potential of advanced semiconductor architectures, and strategic policies to enhance global cooperation.

The five-day conference is being held in both Hà Nội and central Đà Nẵng city, featuring key workshops on the semiconductor and AI technology revolution, exhibitions, investment and business networking, and a policy forum on Việt Nam’s AI and semiconductor development in the new era. — VNS
