KHÁNH HÒA — Khánh Hòa Provincial People’s Committee recently approved a resolution to recover more than 1,254ha of land in Cam Ranh City for a bayside urban area project.
The area includes the communes of Cam Lập and Cam Thịnh Đông, as well as districts of Ba Ngòi, Cam Lợi, Cam Linh, Cam Thuận, Cam Phú, Cam Phúc Nam, Cam Phúc Bắc and Cam Nghĩa.
This is part of the plan for the provincial People’s Committee to complete the project dossier before submitting it to the Prime Minister for approval and carrying out the selection process for investors.
Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, vice chairman of Khánh Hòa People’s Committee, said that the investment objective of the project is to establish a complete and comprehensive urban area, which will include infrastructure systems, residences, public spaces, services for businesses and the city, parks and greenery, resorts, golf courses and theme parks.
The project aims to make use of the land and promote socio-economic development in Cam Ranh Bay and City.
Total funding for the project is expected to be over VNĐ42 trillion (US$1.8 billion). It has a total operation term of 50 years, counted from the date that investors receive permission for land allocation, lease and use.
According to Politburo’s Resolution 09-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2022 on building and developing Khánh Hòa to 2030 with a vision to 2045, the locality will become a city under the jurisdiction of the central government in 2030.
Its Cam Ranh City is planned to become a tourism and logistics urban area.
Khánh Hòa Provincial People’s Committee also recently approved a plan that will expand Cam Ranh’s rural and urban residential area by 1,600ha.
Cam Ranh City has a total area of 316sq.km, with a population of approximately 140,000.
It is located about 50km South of Nha Trang City on the coast of Cam Ranh Bay, one of the natural bays considered the best in Southeast Asia for tourism and seaport services.
Cam Ranh International Airport, the fourth largest in the country in terms of traffic, is also one of the key transportation hubs of Khánh Hòa Province and the South Central region.
The city is also part of the main national traffic routes, such as National Route 1, North-South railway, and Cam Ranh International Seaport. — VNS
