Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Thanh said she hopes that the Việt Nam-Cambodia parliamentary friendship associations will turn their high-level commitments into detailed action plans.

Cambodian media described the NA President’s official visit as a success, saying it has further deepened the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Consular officials have been deployed to Kumamoto to assist affected Vietnamese citizens, support victims’ families and ensure those injured or displaced receive timely protection.

Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm urged the entire Party and political system to firmly grasp the guiding principles, new elements and interconnections among the Party Central Committee's decisions and strategic shifts, stressing that correct understanding is the foundation for unified action.

For the first time, the 14th National Party Congress placed maintaining a peaceful and stable environment at the forefront of the country's development objectives. It also set the goal of building a society that is orderly, civilised, secure, safe, socially protected and development-oriented, with the long-term ambition of significantly reducing crime and ultimately creating a society free of crime, accidents, social evils and corruption.

Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm stressed that security is a prerequisite for development and called for a fundamental shift in the national security strategy. Instead of dealing with individual risks after they arise, Việt Nam must strengthen resilience, improve preparedness and proactively safeguard the country.

Minister Counsellor Nguyễn Hải Lưu reiterated Việt Nam's support for the two-State solution based on the pre-1967 borders, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions, with a view to achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Trần Lưu Quang hosted separate meetings with Thai Ambassador to Việt Nam Urawadee Sriphiromya and a delegation of Thai businesses, newly appointed Cambodian Consul General Luon Bunvadh, and newly appointed Consul General of the Philippines Querobine Deapera Laccay, on Tuesday.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng described the event as more than a routine meeting, saying it will recognise the practical contributions of honorary consuls while defining expectations and tasks aimed at driving more effective action and strengthening the performance of the honorary consular network.
