Visitors to Yên Tử can explore its rich heritage, immerse in its cultural and natural wonders, and rediscover peace of mind.

QUẢNG NINH – Many Buddhist followers and visitors, particularly youngsters have been flocking to Yên Tử – a unique cultural destination this summer.

Yên Tử has been offering a variety of special programmes and experiences tailored for different target groups to create lasting memories for all visitors, said Yên Tử Management Board.

Activities at Yên Tử Village include “Understanding and Loving” outdoor camp for youths aged 11 - 15, designed to foster emotional development, transform unhelpful habits, and serve as a bridge to deepen understanding between parents and children - encouraging mutual growth.

The village is a warm and engaging space for families to connect, share meaningful moments, and explore culture while relaxing amidst nature.

A series of family-friendly events have been held throughout the summer, including traditional craft workshops, folk games, culinary explorations, and vibrant cultural performances.

"Yên Tử warmly invites visitors to explore its rich heritage, immerse in its cultural and natural wonders, and rediscover peace of mind," said an official of the board.

The historic Yên Tử Mountain complex, on a top sacred mountain of Việt Nam, is situated in Uông Bí City, Quảng Ninh Province, about 50 km from Hạ Long Bay.

Inspired by the Huệ Quang Golden Stupa – one of the few remaining artifacts from the 13th-century Trần Dynasty – and the spiritual heritage of the Trúc Lâm Zen sect, the cultural and architectural essence of ancient Vietnamese villages has been masterfully recreated by architectural “wizard” Bill Bensley, the Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company, and contemporary artisans.

Together, they have created the one-of-a-kind Trúc Lâm Cultural Center in Việt Nam, offering a wide range of experiences, including Legacy Yen Tu – MGallery, a wellness sanctuary echoing the grandeur of Trần-era palaces; Yên Tử Village, a village-style resort rich in traditional Vietnamese rural culture; and a cable car system that glides above the lush Yên Tử Forest.

Yên Tử is not only a travel destination but also a return to deeply rooted values of cultural, historical, spiritual, and natural heritage preserved over centuries.

In addition to centuries-old relics, visitors to the site can immerse themselves in a uniquely Vietnamese setting – surrounded by majestic mountains and traditional Trần-style architecture – while engaging in time-honored cultural experiences.

It is a place for wellness and healing, for hosting events, conferences, team-building retreats, and educational programs for youth, as well as a creative space for artistic inspiration and expression.

A sacred place of the Trúc Lâm Zen lineage and majestic natural landscapes, Yên Tử is evolving to enrich its cultural legacy and carve out a unique identity among Việt Nam’s cultural tourism destinations. Based on its historical foundations, the Trúc Lâm Cultural Center continues to promote the heritage of Yên Tử, positioning it as a hub for holistic well-being of Mind – Body – Spirit and promoting sustainable tourism development.

Surrounded by forested mountains and fresh air, Yên Tử is an ideal destination for guests to rediscover balance and inner peace. Activities such as meditation and yoga in serene environments, along with wellness therapies using native herbs, help restore energy and enhance holistic health.

Yên Tử is dedicated to sustainable tourism by preserving cultural, historical, and natural assets, the management board said. Eco-friendly tourism practices are implemented, with strong involvement from the local community to help protect the landscape and promote traditional values. VNS
