HÀ NỘI — The best Vietnamese films and TV programmes will be honoured during the Golden Kite Awards 2018, taking place on April 15 in Hà Nội.
The Golden Kite Awards are held annually by the Vietnamese Cinema Association.
“It aims to honour films and television programmes which have left a good impression on audiences this year. Selected films and TV shows will have received a warm welcome from audiences, and promote humanity and national identity,” said Nguyễn Thị Hồng Ngát, vice chairwoman of the association, yesterday.
This year the organisers received 117 entries, including feature films, TV series, and animations, but also short films, scientific films and documentaries. The entries were then divided into relevant categories.
Each category has one jury board including notable filmmakers and critics such as script writer Nguyễn Thị Hồng Ngát, the actress Minh Châu, and musician Đỗ Hồng Quân. Joining these household names are directors Lưu Nghiệp Quỳnh and Quốc Trọng.
