HÀ NỘI — The winner of Miss Việt Nam 2026 is expected to embody not only physical beauty and cultural understanding, but also intelligence and a strong capacity to contribute to society.

The organising committee launched the 20th year of the national beauty pageant in a press conference on May 5 in Hà Nội.

Speaking at the event, Editor-in-chief of Tiền Phong Newspaper Phùng Công Sưởng, head of the committee, said Miss Việt Nam 2026 continued to uphold its four core values: Beauty - radiant physical appearance; Culture - depth of knowledge and moral foundation; Intelligence - cleverness and contemporary thinking; and Dedication - sense of responsibility and a heart for the community.

Each contestant would use these core values as guiding principle to grow, improve, and become a better version of herself.

“In this new era, a beauty queen needs to not only shine with her beauty but also possess the ability to create a positive and lasting impact on society. Each year, we will step closer to the image of the modern Vietnamese woman who is strong-willed, humane, and full of aspirations to contribute,” said Sưởng.

Under the theme of Miền Hương Sắc (Land of Scent and Beauty), the pageant ís also expected to serve as a journey of renewing traditional values ​​and promoting new aspirations.

The preliminary round will be held in June along with a reality-style showcase of contestants' experiences. It will be broadcast in July on social channels and digital platforms. The finals will be held in August in Hải Phòng, which will host the event for the first time.

Contestants will take part in community works, tourism promotion and other cultural and art activities to showcase their capabilities, intelligence and dedication in a real-world environment.

The winner will receive VNĐ500 million (US$19,000) while two runners-up will take VNĐ300 million and VNĐ250  million, respectively.

There are also other prizes for Most Favourite Contestant,  Ambassador of Compassion, Ambassador of Tourism and Environment, and Ambassador of Sports and Fashion.

This year, the pageant will make a strong push towards digitalisation in its operations and organisational activities.

The entire event process will be integrated into a unified system, covering everything from online registration and official voting to e-ticketing, QR code-based check-in, digital content integration, and data management.

This approach not only standardises organisational procedures but also delivers a seamless, transparent and highly interactive experience for contestants, the organising committee and the public. — VNS
