HÀ NỘI – Artworks created by first generation of Vietnamese painting in the beginning of 20th century will be put under hammer during an online auction this weekend.

Organised by the Hà Nội-based Le Auction House, the auction The Vietnamese Art in 20th Century will offer for sale 350 selected paintings, including the ones created from the early establishment of the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine (the Indochina School of Fine Arts) to contemporary paintings.
The auction will have two sections, both starts at 3pm on Saturday, July 27, and on Sunday, July 28. Anyone interested in the bidding can register to join at LeAuctions.vn. The auction will offer live bidding from the UK.
Held at the same time in Việt Nam and the UK, the event is to show Le Auction House’s unwavering professionalism and its global vision and dedication to showcasing Vietnamese art to the world.
According to the organiser, this remarkable event not only offers Vietnamese art enthusiasts a chance to immerse themselves in its beauty, but also extends an invitation to the global community. Through exquisite and unique works by outstanding artists, the world can explore and experience the rich tapestry of Vietnamese art.
Highlight of the upcoming auction is the 56-by-116cm ink-and-colour-on-silk painting Bến Sông (The Wharf) by Lương Xuân Nhị (1914 - 2006), who studied at the Indochina School of Fine Arts during 1932-1937.

The auction also will showcase artworks by other renowned Vietnamese painters of the same era – names like Lê Phổ, Mai Trung Thứ, Vũ Cao Đàm, and Lê Thị Lựu. Notably, their pieces have caught the discerning eyes of international art collectors, commanding million-dollar prices in auctions across Paris and Hong Kong in recent years.
The journey through art history will continue with the works of Lưu Công Nhân, Lê Huy Hòa, Trần Lưu Hậu, and Nguyễn Trọng Kiệm – all poised to grace the upcoming auction.
Works by Điềm Phùng Thị, Lê Bá Đảng, Trần Duy, Lê Trung, Trần Văn Thọ, Kim Khánh, Kim Sơn, Nguyễn Văn Trường, who contributed significantly to the Vietnamese art, also are in the auction list.
The auction will also present works by Southern artists such as Nguyễn Phước, Nguyễn Trung, Nguyên Khai, Hồ Hữu Thủ –each leaving indelible imprints of Southern fine art.

Pieces by representatives of Vietnamese contemporary painting such as Đặng Xuân Hoà, Bùi Hữu Hùng, Phạm An Hải, Phạm Hà Hải, Đinh Quân, Bùi Tuấn Thanh, will also be on sale during the auction.
