Việt Nam works with global partners to fight desertification

In 1994, the UN General Assembly designated June 17 as the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, which aims to improve public awareness of drought and desertification and encourage the implementation of UN measures to fight the phenomena in hard-hit countries.

Photo contest launched to promote marine conservation

Supported by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Việt Nam Administration of Seas and Islands, the contest aims to raise awareness and change the behaviour of local authorities, individuals and businesses regarding plastic use reduction, particularly single-use plastics.

Over 20 rare wild animals released

According to the centre, the animals underwent a quarantine for at least 30 days to monitor their health condition, after which they were assessed for re-release conditions based on criteria such as health and capacity of self-defence in the wild.
