HÀ NỘI — FE CREDIT has joined coLoan, an impact finance initiative supporting sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience, under the EmPower II programme jointly implemented by UN Women and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The move translates the lender’s “Standing with communities, making dreams come true” commitment into practical financial solutions to support livelihoods.

The coLoan initiative adopts a multi-stakeholder model that connects financial institutions, electric vehicle manufacturers and mobility platforms to address financial and transport barriers faced by women working in passenger transport, delivery and other income-generating activities.

The platform links borrowers with partners throughout the process, from choosing a vehicle and accessing finance to finding income-generating opportunities. Participating financial institutions provide funding and share credit risks, while manufacturers supply electric motorbikes and mobility platforms help users access jobs and earn an income.

“coLoan turns a multi-partner financing model into a clear and accessible journey for women, guiding them from their initial enquiries through to vehicle ownership,” said Vũ Thùy Anh, general director of Delta West Group.

Initially, coLoan will operate in Hà Nội and HCM City, aiming to mobilise around VNĐ50 billion (US$1.9 million) in green financing, help more than 550 women access electric vehicles for income-generating activities and reduce about 5,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

By making timely repayments, borrowers can also build credit histories, laying the groundwork for access to formal financial services and more stable, sustainable livelihoods.

FE CREDIT joins coLoan as a lending partner, helping women access green credit to support their livelihoods.

As a lending partner, FE CREDIT will provide financial solutions tailored to customers seeking electric motorbikes for income-generating activities. A digitalised process connecting the coLoan platform, its partners and FE CREDIT is designed to make it easier for customers to explore options, apply for loans and complete the necessary procedures.

Joining coLoan expands FE CREDIT’s involvement in impact finance aimed at supporting sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience. It also represents a practical step towards delivering on its commitment to stand alongside communities through accessible financial products.

“For FE CREDIT, responsible finance is not just about providing capital, but also about ensuring that funding reaches people who need it and delivers tangible benefits. Joining coLoan is a concrete step towards helping women access vehicles for income-generating activities, enabling them to build their own livelihoods and gradually improve their access to formal financial services,” a FE CREDIT representative said.

In October 2025, FE CREDIT also introduced a preferential loan package offering interest rate reductions of up to 50 per cent in Thái Nguyên, Bắc Ninh, Lạng Sơn and Cao Bằng. The programme aimed to help residents affected by flooding access funds quickly to repair homes, buy essential goods, restore livelihoods and rebuild their lives after natural disasters.

FE CREDIT has pursued its “Standing with communities, making dreams come true” initiative for nearly 16 years, with activities addressing practical community needs. In 2024 and 2025, the company allocated more than VNĐ2.1 billion to community support programmes covering education, social welfare and environmental protection in provinces and cities nationwide.

The initiatives have been tailored to local needs, ranging from disaster response and hundreds of scholarships for disadvantaged children to social welfare activities, including Tết (Lunar New Year) gifts, charity housing for disadvantaged families and Agent Orange victims, and blood donation campaigns.

In the Mekong Delta, FE CREDIT also donated hundreds of clean-water storage tanks to help residents cope with drought and saltwater intrusion. — VNS
