HÀ NỘI – CapitaLand Development has recently launched the second edition of “Together We Step: Step For Kindness” campaign in Hà Nội, with the support of CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand Group.

In collaboration with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youths in Việt Nam, this campaign seeks to rally community support for this important cause.

It also emphasises the critical need to improve literacy and reduce school dropout rates among vulnerable students.

The “Together We Step: Step For Kindness” campaign is part of CapitaLand’s long-standing commitment to sustainable development, community engagement and making a positive impact in Việt Nam, where it has been operating for 30 years since 1994. It is one of the activities under CapitaLand's annual #GivingAsOne initiative supported by CHF, where CapitaLand staff, tenants, partners, and customers come together to augment their giving efforts.

Building on the success of the first campaign in Bình Dương in March 2024, the second will run in Hanoi from 28 August to 19 October, 2024.

There will be two key activities: a social media initiative and an outdoor community event.

CHF pledges to donate up to US$30,000 on reaching the combined target of 200 million steps from the social media initiative and 20 million steps from the outdoor event.

For the social media initiative, participants are encouraged to log their steps online throughout the entire campaign period to contribute to the overall goal. The campaign will culminate in an outdoor community event at Ocean City in Gia Lâm District, Hà Nội, on 20 October.

Participants can choose to walk, jog or run through a scenic two- or five-kilometre route with friends, family or even pets.

It is open to individuals of all ages and fitness levels, and those interested can sign up at https://togetherwestep.vn/ha-noi-2024-en/.

Mr Alwin Low, general manager for North Vietnam at CLD (Vietnam), said: “We are encouraged by the positive reception from the community for the first edition of the ‘Together We Step: Step For Kindness’ campaign in Binh Duong, where over 100 million steps were logged.

“CLD pledged $30,000 to refurbish the kitchen facilities at Thanh Tuyen Kindergarten (campus 2), improving students’ access to nutritious meals. The kitchen was completed and handed over to the school on 2 August, 2024, marking a successful conclusion of the campaign’s first edition.

“For the second edition, we are pleased to partner with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a reputable and trusted organisation, to support street children and students in need in Việt Nam.

“As CapitaLand celebrates 30 years in Vietnam, we remain steadfast in our purpose to enrich lives and uplift the communities where we operate. We endeavour to build resilience in children in Việt Nam by providing support for their educational and well-being needs. Since 2007, through our philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, we have refurbished four schools in Phú Thọ, HưngYên and Long An provinces, creating safe and conducive learning environments for students.

“Other initiatives such as the “My Schoolbag” Programme, CapitaLand Kids Programme @ Education Bursary and the Nutrition Project under CapitaLand Hope School Programme have enhanced access to education and provided nutritional support for students.

“Looking ahead, we aim to continue improving the social mobility of children in Việt Nam, empowering them with better access to education and skills development to reach their aspirations.

“We look forward to collaborating with like-minded partners to uplift communities in need.”

The Senique Hanoi, a large-scale residential project under development by CLD in East Hà Nội, is one of the main sponsors of this campaign in Hà Nội.

Jointly developed with Mitsubishi Estate Company, Ltd and Nomura Real Estate Development Company, Ltd, The Senique Hanoi spans a total area of 2.1 hectares and offers over 2,100 units across three 37-storey towers.
