The HAWA Expo and VIFA Expo are among the most anticipated annual trade shows, attracting international visitors and exhibitors from around the world. At HAWA Expo 2025, Canadian Wood Vietnam showcased furniture collections from four local manufacturers participating in their Canadian Wood Trial Program.
Through the program, these factories were provided with Canadian lumber to use for their furniture collections, along with technical support from Canadian Wood. This initiative highlights Canadian Wood’s support for Vietnamese manufacturers in accessing new materials and expanding their networks with potential buyers.
At VIFA Expo 2025, Canadian Wood Vietnam engaged with international attendees from across the globe. This marks Canadian Wood Vietnam's fifth time at the expo, showcasing an innovative booth featuring furniture collections made from five key Canadian softwood species: Western Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF).
Furniture color panels displayed at the trade show featured a diverse range of shades, from light to dark, offering visitors a closer look at their versatility and compatibility with various finishes and colors.
“We are encouraged by the growing awareness and interest in Canada’s sustainable wood products, as reflected in the significant turnout at these trade shows,” said the Country Director of Canadian Wood Vietnam, Vince Tran. “Our priority is to support manufacturers in selecting and using wood species from British Columbia, Canada, for high-quality furniture applications. These activities are part of our work in this important market and our contribution to the growth of Vietnam's wood industry.”
Canadian Wood Vietnam, as a non-commercial entity, remains dedicated to fostering the local market through education, promotion, and training initiatives. Since its entry into Vietnam in 2018, it has become a trusted resource, offering knowledge and professional guidance to support manufacturers in accessing sustainably sourced wood from British Columbia, Canada, along with full technical support.

In 2024, according to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s wood and furniture exports surged to $16.25 billion, marking a 20 per cent increase from the previous year and solidifying the country’s position as a global furniture manufacturing hub. As the industry targets $18 billion in exports in 2025, manufacturers prioritise sustainability, legal sourcing, and transparency. The shift towards certified wood and sustainable production is not just a response to regulations but a necessary move to align with market trends.
Amid the demand for sustainable materials, Canadian wood stands out as a trusted resource and global leader in forest management, accounting for 41 per cent of all certified forests worldwide. Lumber imported from Canada meets rigorous PEFC and FSC standards, providing Vietnamese manufacturers with reliable access to legally sourced, high-quality wood that complies with retailer requirements.
By participating in trade shows and industry events, Canadian Wood Vietnam builds awareness, promotes sustainable wood solutions, and expands its presence in Vietnam's wood industry. This engagement strengthens its presence and highlights its dedication to connecting manufacturers with reliable sources of certified wood.
