HÀ NAM — ILMI Agriculture & Fisheries Co Ltd from the Republic of Korea plans to grow radishes in Hà Nam Province, a working session between the company and the People’s Committee heard.
On Thursday, Oh Young Cheol, chairman of the company, said the firm was farming 40ha of radish in Bắc Ninh Province and wanted to expand to Hà Nam due to its fertile soil.
At first, radishes would be planted on a trial basis, and if this is a success, the company wouldl expand cultivation to an area of 330ha, he said, noting that his company wanted to set up a 5ha production plant and needs 500 workers.
According to Vũ Đại Thắng, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Hà Nam Province prioritises high-tech agriculture and will create ideal conditions for the company to operate in the locality.
The company can sign contracts with locals and provide them seedlings, technology and techniques to implement the project, Thắng suggested.
The province will arrange area for ILMI to construct an agricultural production plant at the Đồng Văn IV industrial zone and provide preferential policies, along with favourable conditions for electricity, water, recruitment and security, he added.
Following the working session, ILMI representatives went on a fact-finding tour at the Đồng Văn IV industrial zone. — VNS
