HÀ NỘI — National U23 goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng has left V.League 1 champions Hà Nội FC after a year spent mostly sitting on the bench.

Dung arrived at Hà Nội from Thanh Hóa on a one-year deal at the beginning of the 2018-19 season, but he failed to establish himself as first keeper above Nguyễn Văn Công.

On the rare occasion he did start, his performance were also below par, conceding nine goals in three league matches and two more in the AFC Cup.

This led to him losing his No 2 place to youngster Phí Minh Long, who has recently signed a three-year contract with the club.

Dũng, who is in South Korea with the U23 squad preparing for the Asian Championships, ended his contract on Sunday.

Media reports claim he is heading to V.League 1 runners-up HCM City, but neither party has made an official announcement. VNS
