Lan wins Asian running gold medal

HÀ NỘI — Quách Thị Lan won gold at the Asian Athletics Championships in the 400m hurdles in Qatar yesterday.

Lan finished in a time of 56.10sec, setting a season's best and leading from start to finish.

The silver went to Aminat Yusuf of Bahrain with 56.39, while Indian Saritaben Gayakwad secured bronze in 57.22.

Lan's personal best is 55.30 and if she could reach her mark she should qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

In the 100m, Vietnamese sprinter Lê Tú Chinh was knocked out in the semi-finals round with a time of 11.69. 

The 23rd championship will last until April 25. — VNS
