Hà Nội Thousands of people took part in the Olympic Running Day in cities and provinces nationwide yesterday morning.

Hà Nội and HCM City saw more than 15,000 participants including workers, students, artists, athletes and leaders of ministries.

People also joined in from Hải Phòng, Thái Nguyên, Đồng Tháp and Tuyên Quang.

According to the National Sports Administration, 100 per cent of localities have committed to holding the run every year to encourage people to improve their physique for a better life.

Also yesterday, organisers opened the registration for the 46th Hà Nội Mới (New Hà Nội) Newspaper Run, which is scheduled to take place in the area around Hoàn Kiếm Lake on October 6.

Last year, it attracted about 1,500 runners, both amateurs and professionals. — VNS
