HÀ NỘI — HCM City triumphed in the National Finswimming Championships which concluded in Thừa Thiên Huế on Friday.
The team brought home nine gold, five silver and eight bronze medals after three days of competition.
Quảng Bình finished second after winning five golds, one silver and two bronzes, while Đà Nẵng came third with three golds, two silvers and four bronzes.
On the last day, five individual and two team records were broken.
Nguyễn Thị Tâm of Thái Bình broke the old national record of 1:34.80 in the 200m immersion with a time of 1:33.96.
Trần Thị Trang Diễm, 21, of Quảng Bình set a new record in the women’s 800 immersion with a time of 7:13.35, beating the old record of 7:21.14.
Earlier, Diễm also set a new record in the women’s 1,500m immersion.
In the women’s 4x200 immersion relay, Đà Nẵng took gold and broke the old record of 6:36.66 with a time of 6:26.67.
Today, 19 teams nationwide will continue to compete in the National Swimming Championships for 45 sets of medals. — VNS
