HÀ NỘI — The annual Bình Dương Television Women’s Cycling Tournament – Biwase Cup 2019 – will begin on March 8 with participants from 16 local and international teams, the organisers said at the press briefing on Tuesday in HCM City.
All of the nation’s strongest competitors will take part in the event except for Asian champion Nguyễn Thị Thật, who is competing for Lotto Soudal Ladies in Belgium.
This will be the ninth edition of the event. Apart from familiar teams from Japan, Thailand and Malaysia, newcomer Velofit from Australia will take part.
Cyclists will compete over nine stages from March 8 to 16. The course will stretch more than 850km through seven cities and provinces.
The first stage is 66 kilometres long and will take riders around Bình Dương new city.
There will be prizes for the overall general classification winner, the best sprinter and the queen of the mountain. — VNS
