Hà Nội — Việt Nam lost through a last minute goal to Australia in the Asian Football Confederation U16 Women’s Championship qualifier’s Group A match in Laos yesterday.
Vietnamese players foxed their opponents in the early stages by going straight on the attack from the kick-off.
But the hot weather conditions saw the Vietnamese team run out of energy as they failed to keep up their high-tempo start.
Despite that, it wasn’t until the 89th minute they went behind through a strike by Australia’s Jordan Jasnos.
With two wins, Australia secure a ticket to knock-out round while Viet Nam need to beat Iran in the last round game on Thursday to qualify. — VNS
