PM Phúc congratulates VN women’s team

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyền Xuân Phúc sent a message of congratulations to the Vietnamese female football team after they beat Thailand 3-2 in their first match of Group C at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia on Sunday. With the win, the team has qualified for the knock-out stages.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyền Xuân Phúc sent a message of congratulations to the Vietnamese female football team after they beat Thailand 3-2 in their first match of Group C at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia on Sunday. With the win, the team has qualified for the knock-out stages.

The PM praised the strength and determination of the Vietnamese women as well as the good guidance of head coach Mai Đức Chung.

PM Phúc also hoped the team will continue to achieve good results in ASIAD.

Phúc’s encouragement will be a driving force for their next match against Japan on August 21.

With this result, the Việt Nam Football Federation awarded the team VNĐ400 million (US$17,400).

Meanwhile, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded the Việt Nam Olympic team VNĐ200 million ($8,700) after they beat Japan 1-0 in their last qualifying match to top Group D at ASIAD the same day. — VNS
