HÀ NỘI — Trịnh Đức Tâm won the Mekong Delta Cycling Tournament – Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời An Giang Cup which concluded yesterday.
Tâm of Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời An Giang triumphed with the best total time of 23:53.29 after nine stages.
The green jersey for best sprinter went to Mai Nguyễn Hưng of VUS-HCM City, while the white jersey for the best young cyclist went to Trần Đức Tiến of Military Zone 7.
VUS-HCM City won the team award, followed by Lộc Trời Group and Domesco Đồng Tháp.
On the last 75km stage from Rạch Giá to Long Xuyên, Hà Tâm Tâm of An Giang beat Hà Kiều Tấn Đại of BTV Đại Nam Bình Dương and Trần Đông Chí of Ynghua Đồng Nai to the finish.
The event attracted 102 cyclists from 17 teams, competing over 10 stages covering 965km through 13 provinces.
The event offered a record prize total of VNĐ666 million (US$28,900), of which the yellow jersey winner walked away with VNĐ50 million. — VNS
