HÀ NỘI — Top Vietnamese tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam gained 30 places in the world rankings, according to a statement from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) today.
The Vietnamese is currently ranked 529th – the best ranking in his career and in Vietnamese tennis history.
Nam entered the semifinals of the men’s singles category of the Singapore F3 Futures tennis tournament one week ago.
At present, Nam has 62 points. He is hoping to make it onto the world’s top 500 ranked players list this year.
Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles division, Nam moved up 44 places to world No 512 after reaching the final of the Singapore F3 event.
Nam is expected to rise in the men’s doubles rankings after pairing with teammate Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên in the Thailand F3 Futures. — VNS
