HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam won their slots to compete in the 2026 Davis Cup Junior A/O Final Qualifying Events in Kazakhstan, after a successful competition which closed on March 28 in Sri Lanka.

During one week in the Davis Cup Juniors Asia Oceania Pre Qualifying Event in Colombo, Lê Tiến Anh and Lê Phú Gia gave a remarkable performance to enter the final match, which they lost 0-2 to Malaysia.

They had previously defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the quarter-finals and beat Turkmenistan 2-0 in the semi-finals.

The second place result was enough for them to take a spot at the Davis Cup Junior A/O Final Qualifying Events.

According to the Việt Nam Tennis Federation, it was a proud achievement for the U16 players as they jumped a big step up compared to last year, when they failed to make the Davis Cup Final Round.

The final qualifiers will be held on May 18-25 in Kazakhstan. — VNS
