HÀ NAM — Phong Phú Hà Nam not only won the National Women's U19 Football Championship with an unbeaten record on October 19 but also secured most of the individual titles.

In the last match at their home ground of Hà Nam Province's Stadium, Phong Phú Hà Nam defeated HCM City 2-1.

With strong local support, Phong Phú Hà Nam set their domination early. Lưu Hoàng Vân opened the score in the 23rd minute.

HCM City's Đậu Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh netted an equaliser nearly 10 minutes later, pushing her side to gradually balance the state of play with more threatening attempts.

Phong Phú Hà Nam had to wait until two minutes before the end of the match to regain the lead when Trần Ánh Ngọc finished from close range.

In the earlier match, Thái Nguyên T&T came from behind to win 2-1 over Zantino Vĩnh Phúc.

Zantino Vĩnh Phúc went ahead with an opener by Nguyễn Thị Tươi 13 minutes into the match.

Thái Nguyên T&T turned the game around in the second half with goals by Đỗ Thị Thúy Nga in the 53rd minute and Nguyễn Thu Trang four minutes later.

With eight wins and two draws, Phong Phú Hà Nam had 23 points and won the Acecook Cup 2024 trophy along with a purse of VNĐ100 million.

Their striker Vân received the Top Scorer award with 10 goals. Midfielder Vũ Thị Hoa was the Most Valuable Player while Lê Thị Thu was named the Best Goalkeeper.

Hà Nội, who drew with Sơn La on October 18, finished second with 20 points and took the Fair Play award.

Thái Nguyên T&T came third on 15 points.

The national championship featured six clubs, competing in a two-leg round-robin format in Hà Nội and Hà Nam.

Attending the closing ceremony, national head coach Mai Đức Chung expressed his pleasure with the performance of the young players and said he found several talented juniors who would be a source for the national squad. — VNS
