HÀ NỘI — The National Tennis Championships will be held from September 16-22 in Ninh Bình Province.

The domestic largest competition features more than 100 athletes from many cities and provinces. The national strongest players have registered to vie for the men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.

Among them are oversea Vietnamese Thái Sơn Kwiatkowski, veterans Lê Quốc Khánh and Hoàng Thành Trung along with rising stars such as Nguyễn Minh Phát, Từ Lê Khánh Duy and Nguyễn Văn Phương.

In the women's side, focuses will be Demi Trần, Ngô Hồng Hạnh and Sophia Huỳnh Trần Ngọc Nhi.

The championships' results will be key elements for coaches to pick national teams' members for the upcoming international tournaments.

Thái Sơn Kwiatkowski is one of title favourites of the men's singles category.

In addition to the competitive matches, organisers hope that the sport activities would help the host side, Ninh Bình Province, promote their tourism industry and popularise the local natural beauty and historic sites to larger community.

While the whole nation is joining hands to overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi and the serious floods occurring in the North, the Việt Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) and the tournament's organising committee call competitors, coaches, staff and local fans to take part in a strategy to support for the people in need.
