HÀ NỘI -- Việt Nam's V-League 1 2023-24 as a tournament had the highest average number of spectators in the Southeast Asian region.

At the close of the season, ASEAN Football, the regional largest forum that has 510,000 followers, has listed the top tournaments with highest average audience based on statistics of competition organisers.

V.League 1 was placed first, with a total of 1,072,000 supporters in 182 matches, an average of 5,890 spectators per match.

The game which saw Nam Định beating Khánh Hòa 5-1 on June 25 featured the highest number of fans, 25,000, at the Thiên Trường Stadium, happy to be sharing the team's V.League 1 win after 39 years of waiting.

Thiên Trường also the Vietnamese venue with highest average attendance across the season, 12,651 people per match.

Malaysia Super League came second with 5,331 and Indonesian Liga 1 with 5,235 was third.

However, Liga 1 had the single biggest match watched by fans in the season. It was a clash between Persija and Persebaya on July 30, 2023, during which 55,103 spectators saw Persija winning the game one nil. — VNS
