HÀ NỘI -- Four young Vietnamese players are competing at the CIPUTRA GolfPreneur Junior World Championship 2024 in Indonesia.

The tournament features 113 competitors playing across boys' and girls' categories for ages of 10-11, 12-14 and 15-18 at the Damai Indah Golf & Country Club in Jakarta.

They will take part in the stroke-play format through three rounds of 54 holes.

After the first day, Vietnamese Nguyễn Bảo Phát took the lead in the boys' 10-11 year-old group with a two-over par 74. 

His teammate Lê Minh Quang placed No 8 with a 20-over par 92.

In the boys' 12-14, Nguyễn Gia Khôi was in the top ten, with a 11-over par 83, while Nguyễn Quang Za Vinh stands No 19 with 18-over par 90.

The tournament aims to promote junior golf and friendly competition among players from all nations around the world, with organisers saying they hope it help encourage youngsters to take up the sport and create a better world. VNS
